Training, Mentoring  & Person Centred Counselling - London Based - Consultancy Services

Patricia is a person-centred counsellor, registered with UKTherapists.co.uk and trained through Middlesex University, in conjunction with Harrow College. She now lives in London where her training, mentoring and person centred counselling consultancy service is based.

Qualified as a full time youth and community worker she has a varied background in the voluntary, statutory and charity sector services, also known as the Third (3rd) Sector, spanning over 20 years. She worked in a range of roles including 5 years as a project manager for a National YWCA Young Women's Project in Harrow.

Her work across across london boroughs includes: drugs education & prevention work, specialising as an alcohol counsellor in Brent, supporting BMER community regeneration initiatives as a community development officer in Newham Docklands. Her experience continued, in housing and homelessness, youth and community theatre, theatre-in-education, advice and advocacy work, supporting LGBT groups, race equality/diversity work; and supporting a range of strategic working groups.

She continued her studies and work as a person-centred counsellor whilst working with a young people's advice service funded by the Connexions Service in Brent and providing freelance training for a range of groups. Much of her work over the years took her into staff development and training and soon she realised there was only one other way to support, that which she feels passionately about in this sector:

The training, development & support of other workers, volunteers, students management and advisory committees, and all those that have a passion or desire to support their communities and Person Centred Consultancies was formed.

"   I started my career in one of the most deprived and yet thriving boroughs of London - Tower Hamlets, where I was born and lived and have used this opportunity to both inform my practice, service delivery and working ethic around those most socially excluded. Indeed, I have a deep faith in the human need for 'inclusion in community' and that individuals, given the opportunity, can be their own facilitators for positive change and growth. My values in this respect therefore includes ways of working that enables this aim to be supported, encouraged and achieved. "
